1st graders go to centers everyday, to work on partner literacy/math activities while they are waiting their turn to be called for guided reading groups. Right now, the kids' favorite literacy center is Write the Room Center. They grab a clipboard, fun marker, a pointer or some cool shades (to show everyone else in the room that they are busy hunting words around the room), and begin their hunt looking for certain words in the room to record. I looked up from my reading group, to find this sweetie hard at work looking for short o words. The picture was too cute not to share! :)
