Short A Words

We worked with short a words all last week (-at, -ap, -an) and will be again this week (-am, -ag, -ad).  Here are a few snip-its of things we used in our room, if you want to use them to practice at home.  I PROMISED the kids I wouldn't forget to post a link to the Chicken Stacker game this weekend!  :)

The Short A Song
(Tune: Where is Thumbkin)
Where is short a?  Where is short a? (hide "a" hand-sign behind you)
Here I am!  Here I am!  (wave "a" hand-sign)
I am in a hat rack, cracker jacks, & fat cats.
a-a-a, a-a-a.

Hooked on Phonics Short A Song
Chicken Stacker Game
