Equals sign

We have really been stretching our brains in Math lately.  Here's a quick challenge activity you can practice at home, to reinforce the idea of equal equations.  One person writes an addition fact.  The other person tries to write a different fact that equals the same number.  In this picture, these partners built 8+2=7+3...two facts that both equal 10.  This also helps the kids to practice using the addition strategies they know so well (doubles, tens partners, etc)...but shhh! Don't tell them that!  They just think they are playing a challenge game with a buddy. :)
