We Love Dr. Seuss!

Friday was Read Across America Day! We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by reading his books & doing fun activities with them in all of the 1st grade rooms. The kids made a Who pen, after reading Horton Hears a Who. We read Horton Hatches the Egg and invented a new creature by combining 2 animals, like Horton's elebird. The kiddos also did goldfish math facts/sentences, after working with One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. To top off the special day, 1st grade even won the school spirit stick with our One Panther, Two Panther cheer! It was a fun, fun day! Here's a peek at some of the Seussy costumes in our room. :)
