Back In The Swing Of Things: Journal Writing

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, it's back to school we go!! :) Our first week of school was filled with learning & practicing lots of 1st grade routines & procedures. Amongst all the get to know you games & class discussions, we found time to start writing in our new 1st grade journals...it's so exciting getting to open the cover & write in a brand new notebook! This teacher has a love for new school supplies & gets just as excited as the kids do. ;)
Normally, sitting down to free-write for the first time after summer break is hard for the firsties. They need a little jump start of writing review to get going. NOT THESE GUYS!! I was so very proud of all 24 kiddos..every single person sat down, opened that brand new journal & began writing..and writing..and writing!! I almost cried tears of joy. These guys were loving 1st grade free-writes! Several were even begging to get their journals back out an hour later. I snapped a few quick pictures as they were working on their masterpieces. You can tell by their smiles that they were pretty proud of their work..just as proud as their giddy teacher!
